Life as a Show is a private, invite‑only app currently in testing with a small group. It is run by one person, not a company. This policy describes what the app actually does today.
Your email address and password (stored hashed, never in readable form), plus the profile you enter: your name, your show name and description, your birthdate, your timezone, and the day and time your episodes air. You may optionally provide a phone number.
Your birthdate is used to check you are old enough to use the app and to enable birthday messages, which you can turn off.
The photos, videos, captions, text posts, and voice recordings you add to your episodes, and the comments — written or spoken — that you leave on other people’s. Episodes and their air dates are stored so they can air on schedule.
If you invite someone by text message or email, the app stores the phone number or email address you sent that invitation to, along with when it was sent. This is other people’s information, so it is worth being deliberate about who you invite.
If you use the contacts feature to find friends already using the app, your contacts are checked against existing accounts to look for matches. Your address book is not stored as a whole.
If you allow push notifications, a device token is stored so notifications can reach your phone. It identifies the device, not you personally.
The app runs on services that necessarily process some of your data in order to work:

Each of these has its own privacy policy. They act as processors — they handle this data to provide the service, not for their own purposes.
Only the people you have added as viewers of a channel can see the episodes you publish to it. There is no public profile, no discovery feed, and nothing is visible on the open internet. You can control whether you appear in search by name or show name, and you can block accounts, in Settings under Privacy & Security.
Your content is kept while your account exists. Deleting something in the app removes it from view immediately; copies may persist in backups for a short period before ageing out.
Life as a Show is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, and the app checks your birthdate at sign‑up.
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is enforced per‑row in the database, so one account cannot read another’s content. No system is perfect, and this one is small and actively being developed — that is part of why it is invite‑only while in testing.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change and testers will be told directly.
